It's been a while since my last post. When I first noticed this I was baffled about why. Then I re-read my post about being stuck in the kitchen. I suddenly remembered all the stuff that happened during that project.
In April of this year we, as in Rob & I, started the kitchen remodeling project by taking all the cabinet doors off. We were about halfway finished stripping them when Rob had to hospitalized due to a bad case of pnemonia. He spent one night in intensive care. That sorta set us back in more ways than one. About a week after he got home from the hospital we called in a friend or two to help us with electrical work, wood work, and countertops. Rob and I tiled the floor and backsplash and painted. The project included the ajoining family room as well. The whole thing was finally finished by July 1st & we had about 30 guests for Fourth of July festivities.
A few weeks after Rob's hospitalization, our daughter had some extensive oral surgery that required and over-night stay in the hospital. She was on a liquid diet for about 6 weeks. That was good because we couldn't do much cooking during that time anyway. The rest of us just ate a lot of McDonald's and Subway.
We are enjoying our remodel and will never take good health for granted!

Good-bye Mrs. David
Today I attended a memorial service for a 90 year old woman. Her life was well spent - she loved her Lord and allowed him to love others through her. Her life brought glory to God. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. It took her 90 years to accomplish that. Is there anything more important than that? It is enough.
I know this is not funny. I'm considering a new name for my blog.

Stuck in the Kitchen
I'm getting ready to do some updating in my kitchen. This is the weirdest thing. I can't wait to get it done, but I keep dragging my feet on getting it started. All I have to do is make a few phone calls to get the process started. I can't make myself make the calls. I think my problem is, while I want desparately to have the project finished, I can't stand the thought of living with all the mess in the process. Also, I'm almost paralyzed by the looming decisions that go with the project - you know, colors, materials, etc. ; not to mention spending the money. I keep telling myself that I must get unstuck and move on! HGTV makes it all seem so simple - they're in, out and done in 30 mins., and everyone oohs & ahhs and they all live happily everafter. If only Ty Pennington would ride in on his white horse and rescue me from this design delimma!!!
